D.J Stevens Custom Rom For Dell Streak 5 GingerStreak 2.4.4

I am using Dell Streak 5 for a while now and am happy about the performance I get out of it.
I had got my phone replaced two time due to hard ware issues and it came with froyo 2.2 and froyo 2.1 but it does not solve the purpose as front camera wont  in skype wont work and the overall function are basic. So I decided to update the phone to Gingerbread 2.3, but to my surprise D.J Stevens Custom Rom For Dell Streak 5 GingerStreak 2.4.4 is much stable and great in performance.

Some of the key features of this custom rom is speed, stageui, pre-installed apps, less crashe (less not none) and overall better performance than the original stock rom (froyo 2.2)

Why Should you flash a different rom?
Well we all have our reasons, I can tell you why I personally Flash a Custom Rom, and that was because of some of Froyos instabilities (android 2.2.). Android 2.2 was constantly freezing up on along with some of the feature were need which StreakDroid Provided (camera, radio, miren broweser).

I am providing with hassel free download links as well as the links on how it can be done.
Mary Wieke has done a great job in explaning how this can be done with youtube videos. I thanks her for the same. She can be reached @mlwiekel or her site here.

Hi kartik,

thanks for the post. I have seen the same post earlier but the links provided by you are working. I have downloaded the required files and I am all set to install ginger streak.

I have a few questions.
Will the suggested procedure works for stock ROM, how do we know whether my device is rooted or not. My device is a unlock version (does that mean it is rooted?)

Hi AJ,

The procedure worked for me on the Stock ROM. Your device might not be rooted you can check out to root it by following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hifk15SbHVQ&feature=relmfu. Unlocked version is not the same as rooted vertion. Hope it helps.
